The morning of April 10. Stairs lead down to the platform at Times Square/42nd Street station. Foot traffic was light this day, with only the rumbles of distant trains and the scurry of rats making their way across the rail tracks. That's not to sound dismal, but almost peaceful. Rats are always making their way through subway stations across NYC, but you can't hear them over the vast groups of people making their way from point A to B. That was not the case today. A penny could be heard dropped across the platform.
